Bella Nirvana Center, (BNC), is a Highly Accredited Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Facility based in beautiful Folsom California. Conveniently located close to Sacramento, California. Bella Nirvana Center is an upscale treatment center providing individualized treatment for men and women suffering from drug and alcohol addictions, co-occurring disorders, and Behavioral and Mental Health issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCS, PTSD and Trauma. We offer all levels of care including a sub-acute medically supported detox, residential treatment, PHP and IOP. Psychotherapy and Psychiatry Services.
We are licensed and have achieved a JCAHO Accreditation which is the highest accreditation in the Health & Addiction Industry. We are Credentialed through TriWest Community Care to treat Veterans.

Meet the Team

JEFFREY KNOWLES, MD
Dr. Knowles is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). He graduated from Medical School in 1978 then practiced Medicine and Addiction Medicine before completing his Psychiatry Residency at University of Washington in 1999.
He has received intensive supervision with training in Montreal from 2000-2008 and continued in his Annual Conference since then. He has vast experience in Psychotherapy that include individuals with anxiety, depression, addiction and trauma issues.

Dr. Alok Krishna, MD
Dr. Krishna has 30 years of experience in the field of medicine. He is board-certified in family and addiction medicine. Currently, he is pursuing a fellowship in psychiatry and is affiliated with both UC Irvine and UC Davis. He is interested in General Medicine, Addiction Medicine, Mental Health, and End-of-Life Care (such as palliative and hospice care).
Dr. Krishna became an M.D. at the young age of 24. Shortly after, he went to get his Master’s degree at the University of Singapore. After this, he began his residency training in New York. Later he moved to Toledo, Ohio to do his residency in Family Medicine. After finishing his residency, he moved to Kenton, Ohio to start his first private practice. Besides his practice, he also worked to lessen obesity among children while living in Kenton.
In 2008, he moved to Houston, Texas to help better his daughter’s education. There, he continued Family Medicine as well as his charity work.
Lured by the good weather and large medical community, he moved to Folsom, California in 2012, where he currently resides.
Dr. Krishna has two children; one daughter who is studying law in graduate school and one son who is currently a high school senior. His wife, Vasanthi Krishna, is also a physician.
Dr. Krishna always repeats the same mantra: “Health is Wealth.”

Audrey Archila, MS- PA
Audrey I. Archila is a Primary Care Physician Assistant licensed in California. A former Combat Medical Specialist, Ms. Archila started her medical career in the United States Army. She served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning a Combat Medical Badge and receiving an Honorable Discharge. She continued her education in Fresno, California receiving an Associate of Arts in Life Sciences from Fresno City College. Ms. Archila went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. Graduating forms SJVC Visalia Campus, Ms. Archila chose to work in underserved communities in Central California, helping migrant workers, Southeast Asian refugees and their families.
Audrey Archila PA-C has a son currently in his Junior Year in college. She enjoys art, music and travel. She has worked in Family practice, Urgent care and Addiction medicine settings. Her passion is now and continues to be empowering her patients to take control of their health and supporting those with the desire and willingness to improve their well-being.

Ma’an DOLOR, LVN
Ma’an Dolor is a License Vocational Nurse. She graduated from City College in San Francisco and has been working as a Nurse for more than 10 years. She has vast experience working with clients who suffer from Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Mental Health and Substance Abuse.
She has worked as a Psych Nurse at San Francisco general Hospital and UC Davis Jail Psych. She has been a Detox Nurse for more than 4 years and find the job to be extremely challenging but yet rewarding especially when you are able to break through to your clients. She believes that anyone can be a Nurse but not everyone is meant to be a Nurse.

Josette Buchanan, Counselor
I am Josette Buchanan, an SUD Counselor at Bella Nirvana, dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate the path to recovery. I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Applied Behavioral Science, combining clinical expertise with a deep-seated belief in human resilience and the power of second chances. My approach is rooted in community service and the conviction that every person deserves a fresh start. When I am not working with clients, I enjoy staying active through paddle boarding and bike riding with my son.

Kayla Efhan James,Counselor
My name is Kayla and I’m the Lead Counselor at The Bella Nirvana Center. I have been part of the team since September 2021. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and am passionate about supporting people through the recovery process. What keeps me motivated in this field is seeing the real change that can happen when someone commits to turning their life around.
Being able to walk alongside clients as they grow, rebuild, and move toward a healthier future is one of the most rewarding parts of the work I do. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, relaxing at the beach, and taking trips to Disneyland. I’m also a proud dog owner and love spending time with my two dogs.

Apolross Reyes,Counselor
Apollross Reyes is a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician and works as one of the counselors at Bella Nirvana Center. She completed her undergraduate studies at California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelors in Ethnic Studies with an emphasis in Asian American Studies. Her post graduate path led her towards receiving a RADT certification through the CCAPP credentialing program.
Since her youth, Apoll has involved herself in several local, Filipino-American organizations around the Sacramento region which helped her develop a passion for addressing mental health-related issues within her community. Through her experience in those spaces, she became motivated in unpacking and breaking the stigmas around mental health.That passion carried on throughout the rest of her educational journal and into the work that she does today.
When it comes to working in mental health, she believes it is crucial to understand the different aspects of a person’s identity and their unique lived experiences in order to provide them the best care possible. Along with the other counselors at Bella, she strives to empower clients through her kindness, compassion, and understanding.
Outside of work, Apoll indulges in various creative hobbies such as singing, dancing, and painting. She also loves traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.

Angelica DePugh,Counselor
Angelica DePugh is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I) who is passionate about helping individuals find hope and healing in recovery. She works closely with clients in detox, residential, and outpatient settings, supporting them through some of the most challenging
moments in their lives.
Angelica believes recovery is about more than stopping substance use. It is about learning to understand yourself, rebuilding trust, and finding healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges. She strives to create a safe and supportive space where people feel comfortable being honest
about their struggles while also recognizing their strengths.
Angelica is dedicated to helping clients identify triggers, develop practical coping tools, and build
a strong foundation for long-term recovery. She believes everyone deserves the opportunity to
heal, grow, and move forward with purpose.
